Boris Marinin: Into The Ether
Omer Tiroche Contemporary Art Gallery is proud to present a Solo exhibition of the Multidisciplinary artist Boris Marinin. Into the Ether is inspired by the ancient Greek notion of Aether – the fifth element thought to be the pure essence that the gods breathed. The exhibition focuses on what is beyond us, the other dimension and unattainable to the spectator in the gallery.
In his art, Marinin tries to differentiate and capture the sublimity of nature using amorphous forms, that do not necessarily relate to the plain material world we know. With his analytical art, Marinin will take us through a journey where we will be exposed to the movement of nature, extinction and opportunity while, uncovering personal interpretations of the connection between an artist and an object in order to show us what lies above our dimension.
In the watercolour series, Marinin distorts our sense of vision: in some, there is a sense of peering through a window on a rainy day, everything seems blurry and unclear; in others you are swept into a moment of clarity, where the mist has lifted and time appears to stand still.
Artist Boris Marinin holds a BFA in Screen Arts, and is currently completing his MFA at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. His artistic process is influenced mainly by self-study, the practice of frustration and his psychoanalytic analysis. Artists Judith Sasportas, Joseph Beuys, Matthew Barney and musical genre Black Metal, inspired artistic decision and are an integral part of his developmental process.
